Our History
“It took many years in the sport to discover the secrets that have helped me optimize result times, maximize athletic potential, fine-tune training, dial in nutrition, and achieve racing goals. Now, I just love to train people to do as well as they can and teach them some of the tricks that I have learned over the 39+ years of training and racing experience!”
Ray Campeau is one of the best-known triathletes in the Northeastern United States, with 42 years in the sport, including a string of wins and podium results in some of the toughest events nationwide.
Certified Power Coach
Early Triathlon Competition:
Ray became interested in triathlons in 1980 during the sport’s infancy when large organized competitive events were just beginning to be recognized. A naturally competitive athlete, Ray started out doing triathlons as a pastime and a way to maintain fitness and stamina. His abilities as a strong swimmer and powerful runner were further enhanced when he realized he had developed the athletic engine to make a TT bike fly.
In 1994, with a change in his outlook and realization of the life-positive nature of triathlon, Ray started to train more seriously and became more conscious of how a structured program could help bring him to the next level of competition.
Ironman/Triathlon Champion
Since getting involved in triathlons, Ray has competed at all levels of the sport and has specialized in the especially grueling Ironman events—races that can humble even the strongest of athletes.

Ironman Tri Club:
What is the IM TriClub?
IRONMAN recognizes the important role Tri Clubs play in the development of athletes. A club environment fosters community and a sense of belonging in triathlon. Athletes who are members of teams or clubs are more likely to stay in the sport long after achieving their personal training and racing goals.
TriClub is a club competition that allows clubs to compete for athlete guide profiles, VIP passes, early registration slots, club bike racks at races, and other incentives to foster a sense of common purpose and team spirit.
The Club Divisions are based on the number of athletes in the club. TMB is a Division IV Club with 41-99 members.

How can I earn points for our TMB Tri Team?
Athletes earn Age Group Ranking (AGR) points when they race with IRONMAN.
• Points earned contribute to the club’s point tally.
• The more club members race in IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events, the greater the club’s total points.
• Points are awarded based on the athlete’s finish time behind the first competitor in their age group.
Total points per race distance:
• IRONMAN: 5,000 pts.
• IRONMAN 70.3: 3,500 pts.
Example:
If you win your age group in IRONMAN Texas, you earn 5,000 points. If you finish one minute behind the age group champion and come in second, your points total 4,988.
Bonus Points:
• Volunteerism: 1,000 pts. per race (if the club sponsors an aid station)
• Fundraising through the IRONMAN Foundation: 1,000 pts. per athlete
• Qualifying for and competing in a World Championship: 500 pts. per athlete
